Apple and third-party vendors are developing new expansion cards for the 030 Direct Slot, including:

• Color and Gray Scale Monitor cards which use the Color 
   QuickDraw routines built-into the Macintosh SE/30 ROM.
• Video cards for large, external black-and-white monitors 
   currently supported by Macintosh SE expansion cards.
• Communications cards for Ethernet, Token Ring, and 
   3270 Emulation.
• Memory cards that use alternative architectures and   
   connect directly to the 68030 microprocessor.
• Digital Signal Processing (DSP) cards that support high-
   speed analog to digital processing of sounds.
